Seaward Fox 17 17 Bob Sandlin
Just bought a "new to me" trailer sailor. A "Seaward Fox 17". This is my first real sailboat. I have been staring at it for 3 months on the trailer, in my yard...bc I am too intimidated to try to step the mast, rig standing rigging, and sail the first time out with her by myself.

If I could see and help do this (on my boat) I would feel more confident.

Where to post a "Looking for new local sailing friends and/or someone to help me set it up, launch, sail, then return to trailer" thread?

Ps I live in North East Texas, 75457 but have a trailer and can travel. Thank you.

I've seen similar posts in multiple parts of the forum.

THere's all kinds of contraptions that can be built to help raise and lower masts. I used an electric ATV winch on a pole attached to my trailer. However, the fastest and easiest way is to have one person on the boat and another on the ground. The person on the ground has a hold of a halyard. Together they help one another out to raise and keep the mast stable. I've seen this technique done with 30' long masts
