got a smoking deal on a used high output alternator(balmar 7 series 80amp) and voltage regulator. Just trying to figure out a place to put the regulator.

Obvious place to install is in the engine compartment close to the alternator. Hopefully heat isn't going to be an issue for it? Directions said to place it where there was the least interference with stuff like the inverter (which is on the other side of the wall to my engine compartment)

Think it will be fine in there?

thanks,
Jared

I ran the wires to the aft cabin motor cover. Mounted it to the bulkhead. In hind side it makes checking the readout VERY EASE and keeps it out of the heat.
There are a lot more places outside the engine compartment than in

You should be able to mount the regulator on the bulkhead inside the lazarette on the starboard side. That is where all of my instrument sending units were mounted for years on my H'31. There is plenty of air circulation in there and it should be dry. This will keep it close to the engine but outside of engine compartment.
