Where to find information?

Having a hard time finding any information about Balboa sailboats. We are looking at a 1982 Balboa Laguna 24 and would like to know something about the durability, seaworthiness, and performance. Does anyone know of a site that has specs on the Balboa models? Any comments on the construction and performance of the 24?Thank you for any assistance you can give, the local boat dealer knows little of the brand.

Don,I know nothing about the Balboa 24, but there was an excellent article about Lyle Hess, designer of the Balboa 20 and 26 and several other boats, in the May/June, 2004 edition of Good Old Boat. Included in the article is an address to the daughter of Lyle Hess who still has plans for sale of several of Lyle's boats as well as information about any of his designs that are currently in production. Balboa Durability

About nine months ago I read an article online about a Balboa 26 that had a fixed keel. Anyway, this boat had been frequently seen sailing all throughout southeast Alaska and the Gulf of Alaska. There was even some evidence in the article to suggest that the boat had been sailed to and from Hawaii. How is that for durability? Vince
