Does the H49 2009 has the hull # written or engraved in the hull? Does it have a plaque somewhere?

The HIN should be on the starboard upper corner on the transom or on the starboard side of the hull in the aft upper corner. It should begin with 3 letters.
this is how you read them.

Hunter Marine located its Hull Identification Number (HIN) on the starboard aft side of your boat, under the rubrail. An additional location was either under the steering quad cover (cockpit sole under helmsman) or
seahood (just forward of the companionway slider/doors).
Its format is US-HUNYYXXXDXZZ:
“US” - country origin
“HUN” – Manufacturer Hunter
“YY” - model number 420
"XXX" - hull number 239
“D” - manufacture start month code D (December?)
“X” - manufacture year code 4
“ZZ” - model year 05

The last four D405 goes like this
D stands for the month the hull was first layed. D is for the month of April
4 stands the year layed which is 2004
05 is the model year or 2005

Unless the boat was manufactured outside the US. Other countries had different dates when they began using HIN's.

I am having a hard time locating the HIM on my 2003 Hunter 456. It's hiding somewhere! Looking in aft starboard areas.
On Hunter sailboats I've seen, the HIN is located on the starboard side of the transom close to the corner and near the hill to deck joint. Usually impressed into the hull so if someone ever painted your boat, it could be hard to see.

Thanks for the help guys. I did find it finally. The letters were smaller than I expected and it up the starboard side further than I was looking. Right below the rub rail.
