A week or so before the web site changed I discovered in the archived photos forum some excellent information on replacing the compression post on a Hunter 31, 83-87. I have not been able to locate that information on the new site. Is the old information still out there? How or where can I find it?

Go into boat info and click on hunter knowledge base. when that opens up you'll see the 31_83-87 file. You should find the compression post replacement file in there

Sorry I just took my own advice and couldn't find it either. But your right I did see it before the change. Being a 31 owner as well I thought soon or later I would need that advice as well.

Hey Phil, re. compression post pictures.
Some time ago Phil mentioned that a lot of pictures were not yet transferred. I found 44 for the H37C but still missing some. And for this H31 query there were none.
Then I did a "Search" for "compression post" and the "h31" and got zero found. Then I did the search for just "compression" and the "h31" and got several hits and they included the exact phrase "compression post".
Then in one of the found search items it mentioned a link to photos but there was no link. The search result follows:

I suggest that you replace the post with an aluminum or stainless post. This will be a permanent fix.
H 31 Compression post
As the owner of an 86 H31, I keep looking at my compression post wondering what's under there. Keeps me awake at night but after looking at the photos of the fix I may just sleep on it one more night.
