In our B361, after heavy rains, somehow, water collects right under the engine. It's getting inform somewhere and finding its way there. Just got down here today after three weeks and had about 3/4 inch. I shopvac it out but eventually, I need to figure this out. I've checked the most likely spots, or so I think.

Haven't checked that, would never have thought of that. They seem totally dry though upon looking.

And speaking of leaks, it's raining sideways right now here in Oriental. Discovered a new leak, cabin top where wires come through the deck. That's an easy fix hopefully tomorrow if it dries out. It's a constant drip right now.

Yes I have that too but it's easy to fix. Some silicone (a simple one nothing special) around the wires will do the job for a couple of years. Then you can replace again.

Tony, if/when you find the source, let me know as I have the exact same problem with my 361. I know the leak is not from the shaft. My water tanks are empty, it's not coming from my shower connections at the transom. I started to think it was somehow coming in at the hull deck joint at the scoop. But there is a dam in the hull which is perfectly dry back there. So, if you come up with something I would be Greatful!

I have a '93 B400 and am having the same issue. i recently had installed a new PSS shaft seal, and it is not leaking. I also know it's not coming from the aft ac compressor, which is above the starboard aft cabin. I can trace the slow leak back to underneath the fuel tank, but I can't tell where it starts, but my suspicion is the hull/deck joint.

Bob, when I had Papillon I was getting water under the engine. I traced it back to the swim platform shower. Once I found that the handheld sprayer was leaking, another time it was the mixing valve. Both were very slow drips which took a while to find. Apparently the water would run down the hose and drip into the area just aft of the engine. Gravity moved it forward. In both cases it was because I had inadequately winterized the shower. If your tanks are empty then it would be tough to blame it on the shower. I'd try spraying the potential areas with a hose to see if you find any leaks. Hit one area at a time and give it time to find it's way to the bilge. Good luck.

Mike, we are on the boat now. No leak in a week. I'm thinking it may be from pressure regulator in transom. Water pressure is now on, I'll wait few hours and see what happens.
Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob, we may be into Worton this Friday. We're meeting up with Bob and Gary for the holiday and we may swing in for a short haul and zinc change.

Check the Vetus anti siphon valve on the engine. If it isn't functioning correctly it will flow water ingot the bilge, since Bene didn't vent it overboard.

I chased what I thought was a leak at the deck or through-hulls for several years. I even used an inspection camera. Finally tightened all the water system hose clamps and eliminated it. One method that helped was tearing papertowels in strips and placing along the hull where I suspected inleakage above.
I would pump or vacuum out the area around the engine battery on the 343, which has a very shallow bilge such that a little water goes a long ways. It also takes multiple tries over several days to get it out allowing it to flow through the hull bracing weepholes.
I got tired of fishiing out the portable pump or vacuum to do it and bought a section of 3/4 OD tubing that jams into the shower drain fitting allowing me to use the Whale Gulper shower pump to evacuate it.
Some small leakage is back, since after a few days withh the freshwater system switched off when I turn it on, it pumps back up to pressure for a few seconds. I'm suspecting the splice in the swim deck shower supply (burned through by heater exhaust). Good luck. Others have suggested spraying talc in various areas to see if water flows by.

I have been chasing a leak in my 323 that has been getting progressively worse since I bought my boat in 2007.
My dealer who has been great had the swing keel removed and reset by the factory rep but the leak turned out to be in the rudder post and the water could move undetected to the center of the boat where I was forced to pump it out the same way as you thru the shower drain.
A leak in the water system will cause the fresh water pump to run unless its between the tank and the pump.

gasket around cockpit lockers

I fixed this problem on my 361 by installing flexible rubber gaskets on the inside of the rear starboard cockpit hatch. Water was getting in from heavy rains when the water overflowed the drain channels around the hatch cover.
