Well This is a peach - my light above the kitchen sink has suddenly stopped working. It's not the bulb or the switch or the holder, there is zero power coming to the switch and I am at a total and utter loss. I've pulled off the inspection panel on the port side in the salon but nothing there, I've pulled off the light above the fridge to see if there's a splice but I don't see anything. Short of pulling it all apart I'm hoping someone knows the answer :/ but I won't be holding my breath as it's completely stumped me. I await the pro's...

I used to have the wiring diagram showing routing, however, sold the boat years ago and that went with it. Hopefully someone may have it.

Absent that, I've used stud magnetic finders to locate wires buried in a wall.

The "pros" might object but I had a similar situation on my boat and I just ran a new wire from a place that was getting power.

Bugger then as its either spliced in somewhere in 'no mans land' or mines wired differently.

The worst part is I can't even unbolt the holder as it seems the heads are going to twist off where the stainless meets the fiberglass headline so I can't even bloody run a new wire - very annoyed

Not wanting to overlook the obvious, but is the cabin light circuit breaker turned on or have you checked it to see if it is faulty.

Just left the boat in frustration kloudie as I've literally torn every light apart and very annoyed at this crap wiring that clearly came from the factory.

Will double check that lamp tomorrow when I'm not so irritated!

Hunter lights are daisy chained so check the next on in line toward the CB. from the wiring diagram the nav station overhead, salon table over head and galley "single" over head all come off a single "Y" connection. Unlikely that that is the actual way it is wired so check the salon table overhead for an additional set of wires leading to your galley light.

Another place to look is the back of the circuit breaker panel and see if you have a piggyback quick disconnect with a broken tab.

Look for a loose wire near the breaker for the lights and see if it has a broken tab in the quick disconnect.

This was the cause of my accessory plug on the starboard side that quit working.
