Last night as I was checking out my lights I turned on the anchor light for the first time and looked up the mast and did not see any light. I switched the breaker a couple of times and no luck. Where is the anchor light on a Hunter 41?

Perhaps the bulb is burned out. When was the last time that you checked it. Unless it was really dark it is possible that you were not able to see it. Turn it on, get off the boat and walk to the side and see it you can see it. Looking straight up you might not be able to see it.

Hi Shiller, John's right. I have to be quite...

a ways from the boat (couple hundred feet or more) before I can see our anchor light. The top mast plate for the light mount is good sized. Suspect it is similar for your boat. OTOH the bulb could be dead in which case a trip up the stick is always a treat. I usually hail a buddy boat on the VHF to confirm. Terry

bad bulb check

Watch the ammeter as you flip the CB. It should show an increase of an amp or two if the light is working. If you don't see an increase then the bulb is dead.
