I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
I had plans to bottom paint my boat this weekend and drop her in the water on Thursday. Well, 35 degree high temps and 4.5 inches of snow hampered my bottom painting. Not sure when I am going to put the boat back in the water because we are forcast to get 6-8 inches of snow today. Where in the world is the nice spring weather that we were having in January?????? Well, I thought that I would complain a little about the weather because I can't do anything about it. Has anyone else been having the same thoughts and problems?

It's here!!!!!

It's sooo cool the Japanese magnolias are in bloom. Some trees have new leaves and small flowers are everywhere. Tom

Soon I guess

We're supposed to get about a foot of snow with this coastal storm hitting Long Island today and tonight. Hopefully in another 4 weeks this will be over!

Cabin Fever?

Two snow storms last week and another foot expected today! I went over to check on our boat. She's still buried in snow and the guys won't let me go near her with a ladder! There is only one thing to do with our time off - go skiing! Conditions are great! With skiing this good, we can wait until April 15.

You may have heard we had a little rain

out here but the few days in between have been nice. I didn't used to think I wanted a dodger and cabin heater but they are starting to really look good. Last week in a drenching downpour I remarked to my companion (who was in the cabin) that at least my sails were getting a good rinsing which doesn't usually happen too often in S. CA. Sunsets are later and I can feel spring around the corner & I'm almost done doing the interior varnish. Also gave me a chance to fine tune the hatches and portlights for leaks.

18" of ICE

Well, here we are (almost) at March 1st. I went out yesterday to check on the lake and we still have 16 to 18 inches of ice. Tough to believe that in six weeks we will be getting the docks ready for installation. Generally we are in the water on May 1st. Until then, it's off to Banff for spring skiing. Sometime in April I'll scrap and paint and get ready for a new season - hence the name of the boat. s/v Apres Ski Richard
