When our boat was hauled out for the pre-purchase survey, the surveyor recommended replacing the anodes with aluminum ones since we are in fresh water. However, we are planning a trip this summer up the Washington coast to the Straight of Juan de Fuca and expect to be in salt water for several weeks at least and possibly two months.
I'm planning a haul out next month to do some work and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and replace the anodes with zinc at that time or wait until closer to the planned trip (and have a diver do it). I'd like to hear thoughts on which might be better.
