Wheel model for a 1978 Hunter 30

What brand (Edson?) and model wheel did Hunter use in a 1978 H30?

Do not recall exactly if it was "Merriman " but to anticipate what could be your next question, they are out of business and it is next to impossible to find working parts at salvage yards. There are replacement destroyer wheels readily available and some Edson parts will fit the units.

It was an Edson. These where the ones with the shifter on the center of pedestal.

Merriman and Yacht Specialties no longer exist, but Edson is going strong and if you contact them, I am sure they have your boat in their data base and can tell you exactly all the parts you need to do the installation. Your local chandlery, if they are worth their salt, should also be able to help you with that. I have installed many pedestals and it is not that difficult.
