Has Zurich decided to do only newish Hunters??? Never had a claim. I got my renewal and they have about doubled the cost. The deduct has doubled and the ins value was reduced. Not to mention that they want a survey etc. Is this the recent experience of other hunter owners.

Zurich asked me to get a survey before my next renewal which I just had done (first time in five years). However, I have no word on renewal premiums yet. So far the annual increases have been modest. Have had Boat US insurance for 14 years. No claims, and the premium cost has only gone up a few dollars in that time.

Survey with Boat/US
I have a twenty plus year old Hunter and insure through Boat/US. About three years ago they hired and paid for a surveyor to give my boat a complete look over before issuing a new policy. I went over the boat with the guy and had a good discussion about maintenance, value and repairs. They issued the policy and I felt more confident in my boat and the way I had been maintaining it.

They raised me almost 40% this year. I never had a claim. The response I got was that they surveyed the other companies and found they were under priced. How about that! I checked around and found they were right. They had the lowest cost even better than BoatUS. Im not happy and I will continue to search for a better deal.
