What's up with this scupper drain?

I need to replace, or at least rebed, the port cockpit scupper drain on my 1983 H31. It is leaking, and causing problems below the cockpit floor and over the quarterberth. While deciding how to proceed, I'm wondering if the setup shown below is abnormal. The port scupper has sort of a fitting, which sits about 1/8" proud of the portion of the deck it sits in (1st picture). The starboard scupper is absolutely flush with the portion of the deck it sits in (3rd picture) and has no fitting. Were these boats made with a scupper fitting on port side, but not starboard? The four holes around the edges of the drain for the starboard scupper would lead me to believe there was once a fitting there.

The 2nd picture is the elbow that redirects flow from the port scupper to the hose that exits the boat at the transom. What is the best way to rehab/fix this situation? I'm open to rebedding with butyl tape as a start, but I also want to get rid of that slight uphill in the hose, which causes standing water in the scupper. That might lead me to an all new fitting or approach. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have decided NOT to go with this idea:

Looking at your pics,, my solution wouldn't work all that well anyway. And yeah, looks like there was definitely a lip around the fitting. I'd guess it was a some kind of thru hull, with a 90 degree screwed on, then the hose attached. And as an old boat repair person,, I'd sure check for wet core around that hole. Doesn't look good.

LOL. I knew that was coming. Hope to get that posted tomorrow - a thunderstorm, and my large size vs. the laz opening short circuited that process this afternoon. But if I recall correctly, the fiberglass underside of the laz is tapered down to a tube that the hose fits over. I'd prefer to avoid any fiberglass work on the port side if I can.

Also, I looked at the port fitting as closely as my bifocals allowed, and there are four pins in it, spaced evenly around the rim. You can see them in the picture. I can't figure out how to remove them. They are not screws.

The first picture looks like there should be a metal grill to keep leaves out. Unfortuanely, that means debris can just lay over it and block it. Often a good idea to roll up some screen wire and stick it into the hole (after fixing it up, that is).

Ron, I took the screen off both the port and stbd. scuppers, so thanks for jogging my memory. Each cover had 2 screws. Can't figure out what the four metal-lined (or metal-filled) holes are.
