Hello, I just finished up sanding down and scraping my toerails, (round bottomed orbital with a large thin steel spatula pressed up to the rail) which are teak, and were varnished (yellow, blistered, blanched and ugly), and finisihed off by oiling them with strips of teak oil soaked cheesecloth that I laid over them in what sun was left, while I had a beer... Oh, Cripes, how many people were after me for having done 'the wrong, you know I would not do it that way and if I were you', badgering... Looks fine to me, I just rub them up on a dry day and they go back to snuffs... No freezing temperatures here so no frost splits... So I am asking you then, what would you have done, and expecting a manic string, but manic strings are fun... In the long run, or the short run, I am walking distance from my slip, an oily rag once and awhile, like a quick sweep just seems less maintenance in the end... And is teak not all gummed up with it own inherent oils and silica... Laptops and beer and batteries... Thanks in advance... SH.
