I am looking into adding a roller furler to my 1986 H23. CDI has one for $359 however with the chainplate way down in the achor locker I don't know if that will work.Any help?

Watch out for hidden costs

I'm looking into the same CDI FF2 unit. You need to use 2 12 inch link plates to raise the unit out of the chain locker. This means you need a new headstay or shorten your current one (mine is original so I might as well replace headstay and Jib while I'm at it). Bottom line the $395 unit will really cost about $1100 (furler,150% Jib,fairleads, headstay, deck hardware). Not sure I can afford it right now. Mark Price S/V Wendy Lee 86 H23

Furler

I have a schaefer snap furler. Paid $400. It's been great. Best money I spent on the boat.

Important consideration

I have a CDI furler on my Hunter 22 that is 20 years old. I called up CDI and their new parts are still compatable with the older units. Very important to concider if you plan on keeping your boat for a long time.
