What's the best choice for teak deck caulk?

The time has come to replace the flexible, black, caulk in the seams in the teak in the cockpit. They no longer seal and in fact some small pieces are starting to work free. I have never done this particular chore before, so advice and opinions are welcome. Specifically, would you mask ... or not? Also, what are the thoughts about using Cetol over certain brands? Are there brands/techniques/curing times/conditions that I should avoid?

The Internet has several How Tos, but they are contradictory at times and all are trying to sell me their products.

I prefer Teak Deck Systems (TDS) single part oxime cure caulk. Like any teak deck caulk the strakes MUST be **fully** dry before application .... very important especially for the 'butt ends' that greatly 'wick-up' water. http://shop.sailboatowners.com/google/custom.htm?vp=11427

To insure integrity and longevity of the caulked seams you MUST use a 'bond breaker' in the bottom of the groove ..... I use 1/4" 'fine-line' tape.

You should mask the seams when applying..... fine-line tape works best for small jobs on smooth teak but not on that with a 'raised' grain.
