Well I ran a moisture meter over the port side cabin on my 84 H31.
The vertical surface seemed to register off the scale. Which is proven
by the water drip into the quarter berth on the port side. I would hope that
Hunter(Marlow) would have architectural drawers on the top and cowling that covers the halyards and such, but they don't keep that drawings in
an archive- Hmmm.
Does anyone know if there is plywood between the inner liner and the
cabin top and deck? If I stop the leak will the material between
ever dry out?
Thoughts and comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

Cabin side ply

Mark, your cabin sides are made just like mine. Attached picture shows the plywood attached to the inside of outer skin.. Because of this void between the ply and the inner liner, the wood does not saturate like typical core would. If it has been leaking that way for a while.. say a year or more, then it'll probably be saturated and not dry.. if the water has been running freely inside and is not espresso colored, you may be able to pull the ports and carefully re-bed .. Good idea to stop it quickly. The picture is from inside the boat . The interior trim is removed as is the lexan and outer frame. Good luck
