I own a 1983 MkI and love her...great boat, even better quality. The only issues I have encountered and heard about are: Look closely at the mast step/sole, they can collect water and have issues. Chain plates need to be sealed and resealed yearly...if they have not been properly kept, you may get water in ...on mine the port side gets in to the head, the starboard side in the book case. Keep them sealed, no problems. The rest of the boat is solid and no known recurring issues or build issues. Look for good maintenance, a good surveyor and you will be quite pleased with her.
