What to do with this space (hole)

I got a new Alpine head unit for my birthday. It came with an RF remote that I plan to keep clipped to the cockpit pedestal. So I no longer need my hardwired/mounted Sony remote. It doesn't work anyway.
To the point; that leaves a hole in my portside coaming. The 2 mounting screw holes are about 2 1/2 inches apart. There's a smaller hole in the center for the unit. What useful gauge can I put there to fill the spot? The stbd engine control panel has a tach. I don't motor much but I want to take care of my Yanmar. Temp? Oil Press? Something else someone has found useful? I sail a large pond.

Pic with more of the surrounding area?
I had a similar hole; I used a rectangle of black starboard that seems to have the same texture with recessed screws to cover two holes that were far to large for the replacement instruments; see pic. You can put anything on or in it you want.

I'll have to take a pic this weekend. I get what you are suggesting. The nice thing is it's in the Tee area of the Tee cockpit so no one has it in thier back

Justin, Patrick Adams has fabricated many patches for your kind of situation where he used a white plastic filler approx. 1/4
inch thick that he mounted over holes, etc.....it's very neat; so much so that you almost don't notice the patch job...he's used
it mostly where cockpit instruments, etc. were removed and the owner did not like the look of a hole...color will match your
coaming or whatever. You might check w/ Patrick for where he gets the material.....Pat

Cool, thanks Pat. Besides the fun meter, I'm not seeing anything I need to put there.
The new RF remote works really well. I can mute, change volume, change source and tracks from the dock. Supposed to be effective to 100'

While this is like a map light, any type of light may be useful.

Is that a speaker? Having a time visualizing its shape. Sure is pretty though. Too large for the space. I forgot to get a picture last weekend.

It has been a long time since I posted this. I finally got around to removing the old controller while I was also removing my worn out cockpit speakers. Had all the tools on hand to get thru the caulking.
We've sailed her for a few years now, and I still don't know what to do with this spot. Never found a fun meter. Already have a 12v receptacle. Maybe I should just have it repaired. It's on the port side next to a stowage hatch. About 2.5" end to end.
