Does anyone know if a FF2 CDI Furler is large enough to handle the 150 Genoa on my 1979 Catalina 30? I have one that I have purchased for my previous MacGregor 26d and never installed, I would like to install it on the C-30. Thanks for the help.
FF7 is the one you need. I'm looking to purchase one myself. I'm jusst wondering if I can install it myself as I know you have to cut the foresstay for this model. They say a stayloc swage will work perfectly. Anybody have any experience with this swage? Sean s/v Carnaby Street
I have a CDI FF6 on my Grampian 26. There is very little probability that the luff length on your McGregor 26 is the same as on the Catalina 30. In fact, there is probably 10 feet of difference.
I have the CDI FF7 on my 81' C30. installed it myself. The forestay swage fitting is a tight friction fit, but with some lube & a strong messenger line, I managed to get the fitting through the plastic luff. It saved me from having to go up the mast & remove the forestay to get it re-swaged. Good luck! (& go with the FF7)
