Oday 25 California Delta
So since some SOB stole my anchor and rode over the winter .....I need a new anchor. I know that I am going to get a Danforth type..... but my question is what size for my O'Day 25 which is usually anchored in semi-protected water of the Calif Delta. Any thoughts????

See the 13 pound package they offer here at the chandlery http://shop.odayowners.com/detail.htm?fno=60&group=1071 Should work well for you - you can find similar packages elsewhere also.

Anchor mfg's recommend anchors for about a 30 knot wind.

Upgrade twice and sleep or go with what mfg recommends and hope that the wind won't blow. I love my bruce type anchor. With extra scope and undersized with 30' of 1/4" chain it has only given me one sleepless night. Too much wind, not enough scope. A very late night reset and then no problem. The reason was grass and mud. I made sure the reset was good. Since I know Craig is going to show up here with his Rocna, I have to say I gave my opinion to Craig. About 6 months later, my brother bought one for about a grand with all expenses. After the anchor was clogged with grass and mud, he returned his anchor. He then chose a Large Delta. just a thought r.w.landau

I have a 16 pound Danforth type and its been plenty for the large lake I sail. 2000+ miles of shore line but with no tides or strong current. I would say 16 or anything above will be more than enough. I would go with an 18 just for peace of mind.
