Dave: The O'day 30, like all of the OD boats is as solid a Great Lakes boat that any one could ask for. Can it be trailered? No, it is far too heavy and wide to do that. All of that size equals a roomy, solid, stiff and comfortable family cruiser. As for things that go wrong; any boat of that vintage will have some things to vex it's owner. It's problems will be a direct reflection of how well it was maintained. A good survey by a reputable surveyer will yield good information. It helps for you to be there when the surveyor is doing his/her thing. The surveyor can answer many questions about the boat and can suggest fixes for problems uncovered. On this web site there is a section where boat owners rate their boats and it is full of good opinions from actual owners. If you see an O'day 30 boat in the yard or slip and the skipper is there ask them what they think of their boat. Good Luck, Mike
