What refrigerator do you recommend

Okay,

Got the big fires out on the boat. Getting to details. The old reefer isn't working, and is fairly skanky looking.

I'm getting tired of buying ice. What all does everyone have, and did you install it yourself? Not interested in water cooled. Don't want any more holes in the boat

We have used Adler Barbour units on 3 different boats. Good stuff, Not bottom dollar.

Go online and check out www.defender.com. I just bought an Isotherm, $750, 2.3 cf, .7a DC avg,sml freezer. Of course they have larger ones to suit your needs but biggest I could fit in my 250. Chief

Did you do the install? I am very tool handy, limited on the wiring up electricity end.

Yes, I install just about anything as I am an Ind. & Electronic Eng/Tech. Its very simple to install as it just hooks from a DC panel switch to the reefer. I was wiring my boat anyway so ran a second DC line/ fuses/small panel for various hookups and used one position for the reefer. I have solar that will basically produce twice the amps that the reefer should use. Cold BEER!
