If I didn't know better I'd say I was back in New England! How do I know I'm not still in New England? No snow plows on the roads, no snow plows on pickups, and over 10 inches on the ground now.

Probably have to do the same bloody thing tomorrow, before the freezing rain starts. :shock: :?

I'd rather have your rain, James. We've got freezing rain on top of the snow now; probably 1/16-1/8" and expecting up to 1/2 inch. I'll be pleasantly surprised if my PVC tarp frame doesn't collapse. Going to have to redesign that for the new tarp next year.

Oh, the state has trucks, but mostly in the mountain passes. There's a few plows/sanders for the interstate but they were plenty busy and one went in the ditch.

The County apparently has some equipment but they're out taking care of whatever they do. The city of Albany has all of 2 sanders and apparently no plows to go on them. I'm not sure if Corvallis, where I work, even has that much. I'm not surprised, as this kind of snow is very unusual for the valley, but maybe it's time to spend some money on at least a couple of plows. Things warmed up enough today that we were driving in 3-4 inch deep ruts or slush, which is even worse. Even with 4x4 and chains (on the back) I was all over the road at times. Probably need new tires *and* another set of chains for the front wheels.

Do you have any problems with mildew or anything with that fitted cover? Does it have a frame in the cockpit?

Thinking that may be the direction I need to go, though getting inside to change out the desiccant might be a bit of a pain.

This cover is from SailorsTailor.com and is great. I have not had any mildew issues today and it keeps the boat very clean with the small exception around the posts and openings. Access to the cockpit is through a zipper on the side but it doesn't leave too much room to move about. I have to crawl almost. There is no frame in the cockpit but there are four lines that tie to the mast (or boom if mast up) that create the appropriate slope. I've trailered it cover on to Florida and back and it did great. We keep it on sometimes at harbor as well to keep the cleaning time down.

We are averaging about 4 inches of snow every 5 days...

This was last Monday

We got another 3 inches last night. They are talking about a Nor Easter (despite what others think we've not had one yet this winter) for this Wednesday. This has been predicted 4 times this winter, and has as yet materialized for us. New England got 1 or 2 I think.

This is the neverending winter. It's been so bad that I've not really done much work on my boat.

I got this covered... I got aggravated with using the ATV to clear, so OFF with the backhoe, and ON with a brandy new 6 foot back blade. Bring on the 12-24 inches of snow that is coming....

A keen eye will see the trailer from "Anticipation" which sits indoors.

I'm tired of this white stuff. Still have a lot on my deck and the roof of my house. Driveway was all iced up this morning. Supposed to get a few days of over 40F. OK you guys in California and Florida quit gloating.

Our local marina had a lot of boats stored inside a large building. Roof collapsed yesterday totaling a number of boats. :-(

Somehow, with the tide causing the river to rise and fall ( 3 ft.) , wind coming from the west, and the icebreakers continually breaking up the ice, we got these huge mounds of ice on the eastern shore.
