What is this? I'm a nube, sort of. It was laying in a 21' sailboat I purchased.

It may be a rig for a gin pole to lift your mast off the mast step (As I think RussC is suggesting). The gin pole would need lateral support with two of the three eyes. I'm no sure about the third. But triangulated the pole would be stable enough to lift off and tilt the mast. There are also other mast raising systems that might employ this rigging.
Is your mast a tabernacle (Hinge) or just a fixed plate like a boot?

I used a bridle like that to launch small boats (Lido's, Thistle's) off a pier using a small yard crane. One end to centerboard trunk, other 2 to the shroud chainplates (?).

It could be a lifting bridle used to dry sail the boat. Look for 3 connecting points near the keel.

What kind of boat are we talking about? Lifting bridles like the one pictured are generally for dinghies like Thistles or Lightnings, where they attach to lifting points with two of them aft of the shrouds and the third aft of the centerboard trunk. The ring and wires shown do not look strong enough to lift a Santana 21. For lifting a keelboat - a Soling, for example - we used a two-legged bridle that attached to straps held in place by the keelbolts, amidships. The ring was tied off P/S to keep the boat upright.

Perhaps a lifting bridle for a dinghy? I agree it does not look hefty enough for a 21' sailboat.
