What is the rubber ball thingy?

I decommisioned my C30 last fall, moved her over the mountains and am ready to drop her in the lake this weekend. Can't wait. Lots of questions wil be answered.One I have is this: My boat has a 2" diameter rubber ball on a loose swivel mount.It is located on the aft to port side just underneath the stern rail.Can someone tell me what it is used for?Thanks wavesKen "Dancin Bear"

Could it be for a "Motor Mate" hoist?

Just guessing, maybe it's for an outboard engine hoist?
