While Mr Landau is correct in that epoxy is the main basis for most all barrier coats, many of the ones I have seen are more like a two-part paint, as opposed to just adding material to epoxy resin and rolling it on (as per West System Video). What experiences, anecdotes proper studies etc are there out there - I am far from being an expert on this and want to learn more! Jim W PS You may not know that some epoxy glues are silicon (rather than carbon) based. Is there a Silicone resin barrier coat?

Hmmm here is a website that talks about thier

treatment as being superior....it uses a proprietary epoxy....HYAB osmocure© Penetrator Epoxy. It says the proprietary formulation has unique properties including avery long "open" time and low surface tension. It penetratesinto the porous laminate, rather than just adhere to the surface as would conventional resins. (whatever that means...lol) They back up the work 5 years(I think some places *might* give 10 years)

Thanks Tom

Thanks, I looked at the site that you suggested, I am going to try and gather some more info on barrier coats and add it to the Trilogy III, since I need to go back into it anyway for some typo and other corrections. Thanks JimWillis
