as mentioned.... found in southcoast22. 3 telescoping tubes, capped internally for floation? or to act as stops when sliding together? bracket on one

So both ends are sealed?
capped internally about 4" in. either for flotation or to keep it from sliding together farther. no holes drilled in it, just a sliding bracket with a bolt to tighten down to keep the bracket in place.

my first guess was some kind of spinnaker pole or to assist in raising the mast, but no fixtures on boat or mast to support that idea

Sorry for the previous smart a$$ed reply. Is the picture in a JPG format ? Is it a reasonable size of a meg or two ?

Pretty simple.

4. Leave it as a THUMBNAIL and it stays at the bottom of your text or select FULL IMAGE for a large image contained within your text.

Look around on the boat or mast for possible mounting hardware.... it could be struts for stabilizing the mast when raising or lowering. Btw, have you thought about how you're going to raise the mast? Where the rigging goes, how you'll tilt it up, etc. You'll get to a point where you'll go "aha, that's what those poles are for!" Good luck.
