What is a good small sailboat watermaker?

Dave, how useful did you find those to be?

The obvious thought is that you have to be moving. Cruising boats spend 95% (or so) of their time at anchor. You must do shore side water then?

Based on what little I know about the "water log", the write up on the web says that there is an optional 12v drive motor that can be used when static. The claim is also that it can be used manually from a life raft. Based on what the folks say that are trying to sell them, they look like a fairly convenient source of water, however, I was more concerned about what they don't say. If they are as functional as the web indicates, they might be a pretty good alternative source of water and relatively inexpensive. I couldn't help but wonder if something with real big teeth might take a liking to it being trailed behind a boat.

JB : No, we use the motor when at anchor. Fred: Its nothing like a lure or the little towed generator spinners. A fish wont take it its just too big and intimidating for bait - we hope! About 2500 nm actually in use seen many big scarey fish but no problems
