I want to add a genoa and track to my H23 next season. My question is what is a good value sail to purchase? I know that there are several manufacturers out there but I don't want to spend a fortune. Any help is appreciated.

Where to start!!!!

It all depends on what you think a good sail is. North,UK,Sobsted,Doyle, all make real good sails. A Dacron sail will last 20 years but the shape for the sail will be gone in 2-3 years. Then the sail will need recut. A Laminite sail will last 5 to 6 years depending on how it is used and could last longer. The shape on the Lam. sail will be there until the sail falls apart. The next question is how will you use the sail, Do you Race? If so than the Lam. sails is the only way to go. If you just cruise than a Dacron sail will work good. Sail shape is very important it makes the boat faster and heel less. So it all depends on what you are going to do. When I hoisted my first Mylar sail (the light bulb went off because for years I had been reading about shape and how it should look) It was WOW so that is what it is supposed to look like. I will never go back to Dacron Sail's. The Mylar sails are faster and with the price of Dacron going up the Mylar sail might be cheaper.

I bought a new 155 for my 25' Hunter last year. I'm beating lots of boats with much more expensive sails.
