What does your Stern swim ladder Quick Release look like?

Hmmmm, I have dinghy davits that block my ladder
When the dinghy is on the davits, the ladder will not drop to the water.
Now what?
I did see one boat where the ladder was tied in an almost horizontal position under the dinghy. I guess that is the reason, but it looks like the ladder could move around a lot under way.
Perhaps a folding ladder that can be deployed from under the dinghy? Does this exist?

If your dink is in the way or you velcro
the ladder closed, if you go overboard, how do you get back on board?
I did the velcro tie for years, until my wife fell off the dock. She couldn't get out on any of the boats, and hung onto a dock attached ladder that has a bottom rung 6 inches below the water for a few minutes until help arrived and got her to a power boat's swim platform.
We removed the velcro and tied a line to the second rung from the top that hangs low enough to reach from the water.
We plan to stay out of the water, but, this will work better than before.

I don't tie it in any way. A small nudge and my ladder goes down. Friend of mine fell in at the dock right by his boat in late October, got his hand on the ladder but it was tied and he couldn't haul himself out. Nearly froze to death, luckily the cab driver that was waiting for him went to investigate and found him. Never tie a stern ladder up.
Bungie cord
I use a type of bungie cord that has a jam cleat fitting on one end, bright orange, and I let the long end dangle down. Pull on the loose end, the cleat releases , and the ladder comes down. Haven't had to test it yet fortunately, Tim.
