What Did You Do in Keywest

I was on vacation in keywest before mandatory evacution on wendnesday and noticed some boaters left the marina and some added extra lines but there were a lot of boats on moorings ,what did you do before wilma hit keywest and other parts of the gulf coast of florida.I will be moving to port charlotte in a year and would like to know what to expect with all these hurricanes. nick
