What could it be worth?

I went to change the oil on my Renault RC8D today and while warming the engine up I discovered yet another leak. Diesel is leaking from somewhere around the injector (and possibly in another spot) at a rate that has me a bit concerned and I cant determine the exact location. I've been chasing leaks on this thing for the past two seasons and as soon as I fix one, I find another. It's getting frustrating and I am thinking of ripping it out this winter and maybe listing it on ebay. Anybody have an idea what it could be worth? Or should I just keep plugging away at the leaks? Funny thing is the engine runs okay, just leaky. I have an outboard that is my primary, the Renault is for emergency use only...Thanks in advance,Manny

It may be worth more that you think.There are quite a few of these old 27 footers that had the Renault engine and parts are (as you know) very difficult to find. It sould be a great source of spare parts or a complete replacement for someone that has one not running as well as yours. I would advertize here first.

Advertising here might actually be the best option if I do decide to unload it. I was talking to a sailing buddy today about the Renault and he kind of gave me a push to try and cure the leak(s). I'll give it a try and see what happens.Manny
