What Bow Roller for a Mac26X?

I put my brand new 26X in the water for the first time the other day after having had it in the barn for the winter. It has additions and outfitting etc. The thing is terrific. Spacious comfortable and it feels great on the water. One thing.. has anyone installed a bow roller to handle the anchor tackle? The space up forward on the foredack is very small and most catalog listings do not give a lot of dimensions for what they sell. I am sure folks are putting these things on to protect the hull when dropping and weighing anchor. One thing I have found about the 26X. Internally structured, it seems that the Macgregor folks are damned lucky or are brillaint. I have not had to put one wire visible and have put everything exactly where I want it. Seems like they knew I was going to do everything I have done and it was planned for and generally easy to do. So I there must be a bow roller that is figured into this boat. I am just trying to find out what model it is. Anyone know???

Bow Roller for 26X

Got this one at Havencraft for $135. Easy install. In fact they recommend not the use thru bolts in deck, rather 5200 sealant and large s/s screws w/ washers.

Thanks...but

Bobby, Thank you for your response AND photo. Actually you precisely answered my question. The problem I have with the havencraft model is that it has a bracket for the running light, which on my boat is already mounted on the pulpit. So although the model you suggested seems to be made for the MAC26X, even including the cutout for the forestay works, it also has a place for the light, which I do not have. I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Windline AR-2 or AR-3. Or, if there is another MacGregor special without the bow light fittings?

Whatever floats your boat...

I too have a 2002. My bow light is on the front railing. The bow roller comes with an extra L bracket for the bow light that I did not attach. Other than that, they have pre-drilled two holes on the port of the bow roller that are used to fasten the bow light bracket. Cosmetically, they are un-noticed by everyone but you and me. FYI, I looked into the Windline product prior to going with the Mac bow roller. Sure it's a bit cheaper. But because there is very limited rear support (not specifically made to fit around the Mac forestay) you will have greater difficulty mounting it and feeling secure about it. That's my take. However, the mod pages at macgregor26x.com have a few. http://macgregor26x.com/MODS/FULLPICS/268.jpg (this one looks like a Windline product that he modified to accomodate the forestay) http://macgregor26x.com/MODS/FULLPICS/313.jpg http://www.macgregor26x.com/MODS/FULLPICS/30.jpg http://macgregor26x.com/MODS/FULLPICS/259.jpg (this last one he places slightly to the starboard side of the forestay)

Thanks Again; Didn't see the Detach Feature

Okay..... Got it. The Havencraft photo did not sufficiently depict the product so that the fact that the bracket is detachable came across. And it wasn't mentioned in the description. Thanks for your patience Bobby. I see what you mean and I think I'll go ahead and buy that one. Thanks Again.
