The Volvo Leukemia Cup Regatta was this weekend at the Birmingham Sail Club(AL/USA). The weather was the absolute best I've ever experienced for lake sailing. The club members were warm hosts. I can't say much for my racing (it was our first race) our Hunter 23.5 was proudly last in all races. We had a great time! The spinnaker got under the boat . . .and on the next upwind race segment my 15 year old managed to fall overboard. Fortunately he held on so we wouldn't have to head-up and miss the marker bouy. Some would be embarrased but I consider myself one of a few to be extremely blessed . . .just getting to sail with my sons . . .on one of Gods most beautiful days. . .

Keep Sailing

Keep sailing, it gets better (racing) but don't forget that enjoyment you had today as you become more competitive. It is nice to win but for most, sailing is a forum to allow time with the family and an outlet from the stress and tension of life in a wonderful outdoor setting. SAIL ON !!!
