To all Hunter 27 (78 model) owners, I dare to say that i'm the only proud Hunter 27 owner in Europe, with exeption of the U.K. although they seem to have Legends overthere. I bought her quite recently and i am very much in love with her. I wandered if i could get information from enyone about designer, drawings and other history material because i did'nt recieve any of that with the purchase. Any tip is welcome. Thanks, Oliver

Welcome to the club!

I also have a 1978. I have all the original manuals, etc. plus the engine shop manual. Let me know what you need.

This is the best place

You can get more information off of this site than anywhere else concerning Hunters. May I suggest that you check here frequently for information and answers to questions you may have. Welcome aboard and congratulations on the shop manual, I assume its a Renault and if so you have the only one I have heard of.

Is your engine a Renault? If so what do I need to do to get a copy of that shop manual? jlaird237@aol.com Can you copy or scan?

Thanks for your welcome

At first i have to say that mine also came with a Yanmar(as well as George) It was in pretty bad shape but fortunatly Yanmar parts are well available in Holland and therfore its recovery did'nt gave to much trouble. Question still stands regarding the identity of its designer and i hope that mayby someone could send or mail me information about the wharf she was build and, if known, does it still exist? Maybe there are technical drawings drawings available? Thanks It's nice to know a'm not alone across the Atlantic. Yours is a Cherubini Hunter

What a lucky guy to have a hunter that looks like a real sail boat. Might not be the fastest or the best finished but it will do the job a friendly price. Will be glad to answer specific questions on maintance etc. Mine's a Renault darn it. I've been sailing my 1979 for over 16 years and it looks like new, sails that way too. Kind of hard to point but boy will it go on a reach.

To answer the portion of your question which has not yet been answered: Assuming your 27 is an American Hunter and not an English built Hunter, It was built in Alachua Florida, USA. It was one of hundreds of that model built. It was designed for Hunter by John Cherubini of New Jersey, USA. Hunter Marine is still very much alive and well cranking out "Design Group" boats. Cherubini is renowned for their sturdy, swift , beautiful designs. Just about any bit of information you might need is readily available here as well as other places on the web. Generaly the people who frequent this site tend to be more knowledgeable. (And have better taste!) Cruise the site. I believe the drawings you want are available here. If not I can scan and e-mail the lines drawings from the owners manual for the Cherubinis. samlust@monmouth.cm
