Well I finally got back over to the boat early this afternoon. I had some finish trim to install on the bulkheads at the top of the quarter berths. I also had a cabinet door to put on but didn't have the screws for the catch so didn't bother with that. I did re-route the main sheet halyard with high expectations that things would be better NT
. I still can not raise the main sheet any closer then 6 inches from the mast head from the cockpit. At the mast it can be hauled all the way up. I guess in the fall I will have to move the mast head jib block down about 6'' as that seems to the the problem ie main halyard binding against the jib block.
Anyhow I spent a lovely 3 hours or so crisscrossing the inner inlet practicing my tacking and coming about skills. Thankfully the wind was light 5 or 6 knots with occassional gusts to 8 or 9. It didn't make for fast sailing but at least I didn't have to worry about heeling her over almost to the rails lol. Today was the day of the annual race from the Shearwater Yacht Club to PYC. The first boat arrived and docked at the docks and then I saw 2 more snaking their way in so headed back in to my slip and tied up.
I plan on going back over tomorrow and spending the night and sailing both days. On Tuesday the forcast for now anyhow has the sea's subsiding to 0.3 meters or roughly 1 foot and winds of 14 to 18 knots so maybe I'll head outside again and do some ocean sailing.
