Got to see our granddaughter score two goals in a soccer game Saturday morning, then ride her new bike at her birthday (6th) party in the park Saturday afternoon. Then today (Sunday) the wife and I went to Lake Thunderbird to raise the mast and go for our first sail in our "new" '87 h23. When we first got there the marina owners, Mark and Barbara, said let them know when it's ready and they'd help. Then Greg, whose Compac is parked in the next slip, saw what we were doing and also volunteered to help. Everything we do is for the first time, so all their wonderful help was greatly appreciated. So also is the help I've received on these forums that got us to this day. What a great relief to have that keel in the water and that mast in the air! Mac s/v tba p.s., and a tip o' the hat to Home Depot for taking back a $52 nylon fishtape that couldn't find its way through a mast, a feat easily accomplished by a borrowed, steel fishtape.

Great weekend

Mac, it's a big deal to get that boat in the water. I know. I bought my H23 just last year. Moved up from Flying Scott, which I have had for almost 20 yr's. Everything was easy on that boat. Whole new world with H23. I hope your first sail was great also. Thats what it's all about. My first sail with H23 was awsome, and everyone after that was just as good. Not without my share of problems. You're right, this site has made the learning process a whole lot easier. Good luck with your new boat, and tell us about your first sail.
