I have been posting articles and so forth on this site for a few years now but one of the other sail sites I visit daily is sailnet. There are, as you all know, quite a few who regulary correspond with articles of interest to all sailors who visit this site and one of them is Beth Leonard. Wasn't it a thrill to sail up to a Van De Stadt on a beutifull Sunday morning down here in Albany Western Australia and not knowing be greeted by her and partner Evans. So come on all you guys up there in the North shake off those winter blues and head on South to Aus!

Read an article

I read an article recently in Cruising World when they were in Southern South America (Chile). It indicated that they were then heading to Australia from there. Beth and Evans started their first circumnavigation from Rhode Island on a Shannon named Silk, which is made locally in Bristol, RI. They eventually sold it here before buying Hawk. I saw Silk here a few years ago after it went through a refit and was for sale. I don't know what happened to that boat after it was sold.
