I am getting ready to install a new Whale 12-volt grey water (sink & shower) in the aft bathroom on our 2005 Hunter 45 CC. The boat came with a Atwood sump pump/ and a pump mounted inside of the plastic sump box. I would like to use the existing discharge line that goes from the Atwood box to the discharge fitting located in the starboard locker in the aft cabin. One of my questions is can pump be located at the same place where the old attwood sump box was located, or does it have to be mounted higher up? If any one has installed this pump in one of the older Hunter 45 CC's please respond back. Can I use the existing wires from the Atwood, on the new Whale Pump?
Thanks, Jeff

I installed 2 of the 220 pumps in the showers on our boat they work great, until you pickel the boat for the winter. The tricuspid valve, similar to a toilet joker valve, will swell and deform after a couple of seasons of antifreeze. If you search for the valves, in the UK they sell for about 3 USD. in the USA we can only buy the rebuild kit and West Marine sells it for 42USD. I was a big fan boy for these pumps until I discovered that replacement parts cost nearly 25% of a new pump. In my opinion I would not buy the pump again as the parts are too expensive.

To answer your question, I put these pumps in the same place as the old ones, using the same hoses.

A few years ago, I ordered replacement parts for a gulper pumps from Defender marine. I believe that I called Defender's special order department to order the specific part that I needed, as it wasn't listed in the catalog. You might try that option.

Fisheries supply appears to have a kit for the Whale Gulper.. Whale AK1557 | Fisheries Supply
Not sure it matches your parts number.

Checking Whale Marine I found these listings for retail vendors in California. May need to wait til the Guvnor opens the stores.

Or there is always AMAZON>>> https://www.amazon.com/Whale-Water-...e&rnid=2528832011&s=sports-and-fitness&sr=1-5

I’m guessing you are a cardiologist or cardiac surgeon.
