THE WET DRY switch on my head is stuck in the dry position. Any suggestions as to how to fix it without a major cost?

Thanks,

Would that be the lever on the side of the pump that shuts off the inflow and only pumps to the out flow? If it is and it is stuck it is either rusted or something inside is broken and blocking it. It is a bit messy but only around $100 to get a total rebuild kit that has all the gaskets and diaphragms you need to rebuild it. If it is rusted it probably is due for a rebuild. I did mine last year as it wasn't pumping out to well and was getting some back flow. Really easy but once I removed the pump took it outside and hosed it off before working on it. Then had to flush about 15 gals of water with soap to clean out the head and bildge. Only took about 45 min. I advise you to pump out the holding tank first too.

Try soaking the fittings of the valve handle with penetrating oil first; let it work its way in for a while. Number one rule in plumbing: Never force a stuck valve as the handle will likely break off in your hand. But as the guys stated, it's probably due for a head rebuild if its that corroded. If that valve fails with the outer seacock open, it will flood your boat. Not worth the deferred maintenance. Another area where cheap windes up being expensive.
