would like to know the ratio of our reduction gear so we can try to resize our prop.We are currently using a 15x12 two blade, but our engine is winding up to 3500 rpm at full throttle which I belive is much to high!
I was not aware that the Hunter 35 used this engine. We have one in our 1983 Hunter 34. I do not think 3,500 RPM is too high as a maximum speed for this engine. I would suggest that you find a manual, Westerbeke is the probable source. Ours will wind to about 3800 RPM as we are currently proped (factory stock). My manual is at the boat, but I will try to find the max engine speed and gearbox drive ratio the next time I'm aboard.
