West Coast Hunter Cherubinis.

Why is it that I do not see any Hunter Cherubinis at my home port in San Diego? Many times I have had people inquire as to what type of boat I have. They just are not around here for some reason. I am fortunate enough to own an absolutely bristol Hunter33. We are really enjoying this boat as a coastal cruiser. It definately has some interesting characteristics. I do not believe it to be a boat I would sail in the open ocean but it does posess some of the elements of a cruising boat. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to post on this site. All your help is really useful and appreaciated.

Check the owners/for sale lists

Dana,There may be more than you think. My boat was in San Diego for five years (a 37c named Great Haste) until June when I brought it to San Francisco. It was berthed at the Mariott Marina, and then at Shelter Island.Another 37 was located at a nearby marina and a broker told me there were others..When I arrived here I noticed another Cherubini design two slips down the dock. Try a search on the owners' list on this forum, and try one on one of the national "for sale" brokers, including location by state. Ask a broker if he has heard of any. You might find another boat owner or two within a mile of where you sit. Be sure and check all those listed in the state, not just the town, so you don't miss a boat at Mission Bay or other Point Loma. I know there is at least one at Ensanada and another at Catalina -- not too far from you as a Cherubini Hunter sails..Good luck looking.Sanders

Hunters are built in Florida

Most Hunters were sold in the Gulf states and up the East coast, since they are built on the west coast of Florida- trucking costs mean not many would be crossing the Rockies, and as your message indicated, not many would be sailed to West coast.
