Season's Greetings. I'm thinking of bringing our P-23 to Florida in January or February. I would like to cruise from Pine Island or Charlotte Harbor, south to the Keys. Everglade City could also be a starting, stopping place. Any suggestions for a decent ramp (2 foot draft) with parking for 2 or 3 weeks? Thanks for any suggestions. Richard

Lotsa choices

A quick look on the web shows lots ramps public and private in Lee and Charlotte Counties. Naples is in Collier, and probably has a lot too. There are marinas on Pine Island, at Bokeelia and Pineland, at Punta Gorda, Fort Myers Beach and all along the coast there. Parking might be an issue, so it probably would be worth a phone call ahead to the private marinas and see if they would let you park and to check the depth. If not, check the Holiday Inn on Charlotte Harbor. It has a ramp and might deal for one overnight. Good Luck S.

A thought

We might be able to help with good ramps and truck/trailer storage for a few weeks but we are up the coast in Sarasota. On a good day its about 10-12hrs (sailing) to Pine island. Tampa Bay/Sarasota/Boca Grande is a pretty good crusing ground too. Otherwise I'd consider Marco Island or Bonta Beach for an adventurous run across Fla Bay. west coast Trailer Sailors might be a helpful resource too. http://members.ij.net/wctss/wctss/index.htm Good luck.
