...but there was no wind to speak of

Made the best of it. Installed the new battery and the new stereo I got two Christmases ago. I had somehow lost power to the stereo, so I cleaned all the connectors to the batteries and checked the back of the breaker panel. Didn't find a fuse for the stereo that was blown, but as a bonus I did find one for a 12V lighter plug in the cabin that was blown.
:+1:
After I got everything back together I checked the power to the stereo before plugging it in and it was fine (12V).

Fired up the diesel for ten minutes to give it some exercise.

Looked at the rigging a little to try to mitigate the bulge in the deck. Loosened the port stay a little and the aft lowers and back stay. Of course the wind started to pick up a little, but I checked my phone and it was nearly 8:30pm so I called for the launch and grabbed a burger at the club.

Congrats on getting out in the water. I've lived only in the south and find it kind of funny that you guys up a ways get a "window" to sail, but I'm glad you were able to get her wet and even without wind is well worth it! Enjoy.

Florida?

Believe me, I am jealous. If you were closer to Tampa I'd come beg a ride over the next two weeks. My Mom is having surgery and I could end up spending 2-4 weeks of my remaining window in FL. Flying out Monday.

It was crazy this year. Not in the water until July 1st. Couldn't replace my back stay until I was in the water, which was done two weeks ago. No wind the other night...etc...

Then, unless we have an extraordinarily mild fall it really is crazy to leave the boat in past mid-October. I tried one season and you just add stress to your life as weather batters your boat on its mooring...you really can't find the time to sail anyway because you need to rake your leaves...and then you are struggling to get your boat covering on when it is 30 degrees or less and perhaps snowing.

Bob --

No need to beg. If you need a break from Tampa, just let me know via email. You are very welcome to spend an afternoon on Second Wind. It would be great just having a 9.2 owner aboard to talk about what we have both done, etc. with our boats (and, of course, what else NEEDS to be done with our boats!).

Best,
Rick

Thanks Rick

I'll keep your generous offer in mind.

I have clearance from the tower to get a quick sail in today. I have one thing to do this morning that will take some time, but hopefully can get out for a couple of hours.
