After sweating out the details of a solar panel and fridge install, not to mention the keel repairs and new epoxy bottom work done this spring thanks to a rock and declining water levels here in Georgian Bay / Lake Huron, I am finally sitting alone on Guilty Pleasure in The North Channel enjoying the fruits if my effort. A fine dinner, some red grape and a little ez Sirius radio and I am finally .... Here! My happy place, Nirvana, call it what u will, a secluded anchorage alone with just Mother Nature ( a threatening thunder storm but...) and a well found boat.
To all who lent advice and helped me get here, my boat and I thank you. The next month will be memorable!

Norm: Glad to hear your enjoying yourself! How is the solar, batteries and fridge performing?
Just got back from a 2 wk stay at Bodega Bay. Had a nice time and got lots of Dunginess crab. Salmon fishing was great but didn't take big boat. Drank lots of cold beer from that unregulated solar powered Igloo DC cooler!

Hey Chief, panel cranking out tons and fridge keeping everything cold. Beer as well, I'm impressed how much this 3.0 cf isotherm can swallow and keep frozen, made the right choice. Had a down day doing boat chores while 30k gusting to 40 blew all around me. Set 2nd anchor as a precaution and will make new anchorages familiar tomorrow. This is some pretty scenery, I can easily see why the magazines all call the North Channel the best freshwater sailing in the world.
Btw, had a feast of Dungeness crab at a waterfront rest. in Seattle some 30 yrs ago, think its time I tried it there again, have 2 good friends who live there I only see yearly in key west. Enjoy, I am.
