No matter what you think of her parents or if the voyage adhered to the "rules", its an awesome accomplishment. Truely exceptional, in the best sense of the word.
She must be overwhelmed. Talk about a lumpy sea! Thanks for posting those pictures and links guys. I had checked in as always but not had time to find the news accounts. And I agree, an amazing accomplishment! She has to be super proud.
Whenever I see a kid like that at school, it gives me hope for the future.

Thanks Joe, we checked in on her about 20 times yesterday. Ruth and I have been following her about every day since last fall and are in complete awe of what she has accomplished.
I've looked at her boat a lot, but in the pictures the last couple days it sure looks smaller.

She is a hero and an inspiration. Fathers of sailing daughters (me) are especially bouyed to see this.

I hear you Jack I got a little choked up myself. When I think about how nervous I was leaving ''safe harbor'', and that was just to cross the channel over to Catalina for the first time. I had to do it solo, no one trusted me enough to go with me. She is quite a remarkable young lady.
Novelman, I sent you a text. Let's go sailing today. Is this early enough warning for you?
