Hunter 40 Mexico
I'm not sure where this question belongs but I'll start here. There is quite a bit of lead weight in the back of my boat (40' Hunter) near the rudder post or sleeve. I am guessing they are some sort of factory ballast. As we are live aboard cruisers the amount of added on weight is incredible when I start to think about it. Dingy, davit, outboard, 4 scuba tanks, extra propane, my wifes shoes. It goes on and on. If they are just ballast could I leave them in storage. Even if their location, which is low in the back is an issue, It would be easy to move some heavy stuff back there. I've added over 200 pounds down there in fuel alone (I am aware that is somewhat temporary). Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

I'd be curious to see that i,ve heared of hunter adding weight to one side or the other to make it sit level but front to back is the lead poured and or sealed in glass or easyly removable if eazy just take out and leave on dock and take for sail the only i've seen was under kitchen cabinets in an 83' 31ft

Simple.

Choose who goes off the boat: you or the other person.

C'mon, you're talking about 45 pounds, and if I had someone that sized to help me up the anchor I'd be grateful.
