I am thinking about scrapping the lead keel off my 27'. Does anyone know the weight of the lead in the fin keel? Lead is bringging $ .50/lb now. And is anyone interested in the keel as is?
If I understand the specs properly I think the shoal keel is 3200 lbs, regular is 3000 lbs.
What happened that you are thinking of selling the keel for scrap?
I might buy a standard keel to replace my shoal draft if I didn't have to ship it across the country, and could see it first. (To verify keel bolt placement.)
I'm curious - with what are you replacing the lead keel?
