How many hours a week must you spend to keep an older boat (we're looking at a '66 Morgan 24) in working order?

Give a little-get a lot!

Once you have restored your boat-completing the tasks of refinishing all the wood, installing new lines and rigging (including the standing rigging) add a new complement of sails, add an autohelm and all the other goodies that make sailing great-you will probably spend about $50.00 a week in upkeep (hauling it every other year, dock fees-if you have a cheap marina, etc.) The problem is figuring out how much it costs to get the boat where you want it for your individual needs!! It's not so bad

If it's in good condition, you're golden. Just a few hours a week should keep her in bristol condition. Once or twice a year you're probably looking at a solid weekend of work doing a variety of things (varnish, bottom jobs, etc). Remember, there is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so worth doing as simply messing about with boats. LaDonna
